- Section 65 of the information technology act deals with the issue related to tampering of any documents which is ben sourced in computer system which as per information technology act 2000 if any person found doing so or proven to did so then that person will be liable for the imprisonment up to three years or fine of rs 20,000 or more.
- Section 66 of the information technology act deals with hacking of or with computer systems. That means if any person hacks somebody else's system or information with the malicious interest of causing damage or alteration or for the interest of their own personal sake then that person shall be punishable under the same act for imprisonment up to three years or fine up to Rs.5,00,000 or more.
- Section 66A deals with “publishing or sending any offensive, false information or threatening information” which means if anything has been posted or sent via computer resource and the information sent or posted is false or threatening then the same person shall be liable for imprisonment up to three years.
- Section 66B deals with “receiving of stolen computer or any other communication device” which means if any person found with a stolen device and that too be proven that person have reason to have the stolen device then the same person will be punished with imprisonment up to three years and fine up to rs.1,00,000 or more.
- Section 66c of the information technology act deals with “using of the password of some other person” which means that if any person uses the digital signature, password or other security related things of some other person or entity fraudulently then that person shall be liable for the imprisonment up to three years or fine up to rs.1,00,000 or both.
